WATER PUMP REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  5. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH

  7. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

  8. REMOVE OIL PAN INSULATOR

  9. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

      Remove the nut.

    2. A231499

      Loosen the 4 bolts and 2 nuts from the front engine mounting insulator and rear engine mounting insulator.

      Tip:

      Loosen the bolts and nuts approximately 10 turns. Do not remove them.

      Place a wooden block between a jack and the engine.

      Note:

      Make sure to set a jack as shown in the illustration. Do not place the jack on the oil pan sub-assembly.

    4. Jack up the engine slightly.

      Remove the 5 bolts, nut and engine mounting insulator sub-assembly RH.

      Tip:

      Jacking up the engine slightly makes the engine mounting insulator sub-assembly RH easier to remove.

  10. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING SPACER

      Remove the 2 bolts and engine mounting spacer.

  11. REMOVE IDLER PULLEY COVER PLATE

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A126838

      Remove the pulley bolt, No. 2 idler pulley cover plate and No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

    1. A300908

      Remove the 7 bolts, engine water pump assembly and gasket.
