DESCRIPTION

The parking brake cable tightening/loosening operation is performed by the parking brake actuator's motor.

    Electric parking brake switch assembly is operated to lock side with engine switch off or engine switch is turned on (IG)

    Approximately 1 to 2 seconds

Note


  • The electric parking brake may still operate up to 20 seconds after the engine switch is turned off. Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • If the parking brake ECU assembly or parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU ASSEMBLY - PARKING BRAKE WITH BRACKET ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the L76 parking brake ECU assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the L78 parking brake with bracket actuator assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      L76-1 (M-) - L78-7 (M-) Always Below 1 Ω
      L76-1 (M-) or L78-7 (M-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
