PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM UTILITY

Note:
  • If "Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory" and "Recognition Camera Axis Adjust" are not performed, all systems using the pre-crash safety city sensor may be affected.

  • If the pre-crash safety city sensor has been replaced, or the windshield glass has been replaced or removed/installed, be sure to perform Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust.

  • When replacing the windshield glass of a vehicle equipped with a pre-crash safety city sensor, make sure to use a Toyota genuine part. If a non-Toyota genuine part is used, the pre-crash safety city sensor may not be able to be installed due to a missing bracket or the pre-crash safety system may not operate properly due to a difference in the transmissivity or black ceramic border.

Tip:

The pre-crash safety city sensor recognizes the white lines in relation to the vehicle on the basis of coordinates derived from the traveling direction of the vehicle. These coordinates differ for each vehicle depending on the tolerance and installation position of the pre-crash safety city sensor. Therefore, pre-crash safety city sensor optical axis learning must be performed individually for each vehicle.

  1. RECOGNITION CAMERA/TARGET POSITION MEMORY

    1. Before performing "Recognition Camera Axis Adjust", store the recognition camera position information, target position information and vehicle information in the pre-crash safety city sensor.

  2. RECOGNITION CAMERA AXIS ADJUST

    1. After performing the "Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory", further calibrate the stored data.

      Recognition Camera Axis Adjust

      Tip:
      • Since there is a margin of error in the internal data derived from the stored pre-crash safety city sensor position (horizontal and vertical coordinates, etc.), calibrating the internal data stored in the pre-crash safety city sensor improves the recognition sensitivity of the pre-crash safety city sensor.

  3. ENTER CONTROL MODE

    1. When reproducing problem symptoms of the pre-crash safety system, do not attempt to operate the pre-crash brake control, only operate the pre-crash alarm control.

      Chassis > PCS/LDA/RSA/LVN > Utility

      Tester Display

      Control Mode

      Tip:

When reproducing problem symptoms of the pre-crash safety system, actually operating the pre-crash brake control would be dangerous. To avoid this, when triggering operation of the pre-crash safety system, do not operate the pre-crash brake control, only operate the pre-crash alarm control.

  4. HISTORY CLEAR

    1. If the history data status is "Yes", clear the history.

      Tester Display
