WIRELESS CHARGING SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. A wireless charging system is provided.

    2. The wireless charging system enables Qi-compliant* rechargeable devices, such as a cellular phone, to be recharged by merely placing it on the charging area of the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly.

      Tech Tips

*: Qi (pronounced chee) is a wireless technology which allows devices to recharge without using any wires.

    3. Qi-compatible devices which do not fit within the charging area cannot be used. If a Qi-compatible device does not operate normally, refer to the owner's manual of the device.

  2. PRECAUTION

    1. When charging a portable device while driving, for safety reasons, the driver should not operate the portable device.

    2. People with implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators, as well as any other electrical medical device, should consult their physician about the usage of the wireless charger. Operations of the wireless charger may have an affect on medical devices.

    3. Observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may result in the possibility of equipment failure, damage, vehicle fire, or burns due to heat.

      • Do not put any metallic objects between the charging area and the portable device.

      • Do not attach metallic objects, such as aluminum stickers, to the charging area and the portable device.

      • Do not cover the wireless charger with a cloth or other object while charging.

      • Do not attempt to charge portable devices which are not compatible with the Qi wireless charging standard.

      • Do not disassemble or modify the wireless charger.

      • Do not apply force or impact to the wireless charger.

    4. In the following situations, the wireless charger may not operate correctly:

      • A portable device is fully charged.

      • There is a foreign object between the charging area and portable device.

      • A cover or accessory which is not compatible with the Qi wireless charging standard is attached to the portable device.

      • The temperature of the portable device is outside its operating temperature range.

      • A portable device is placed on the wireless area with its charging surface facing up.

      • A portable device is not centered on the charging area.

      • The vehicle is near a facility that generates strong radio waves or electrical noise.

      • The portable device is in contact with, or is covered by a metallic object.

      • Wireless keys (that emit radio waves) other than those of your vehicle are being used nearby.

    5. Do not bring magnetic cards, such as a credit card, or magnetic recording media, close to the wireless charger. Otherwise, data may be erased due to the influence of magnetism. Additionally, do not bring precision instruments such as wrist watches close to the wireless charger, as such objects may malfunction.

    6. To prevent auxiliary battery discharge, do not use the wireless charger for a long period of time with the engine (hybrid system) stopped.

    7. Ignition Switch Expressions

      1. The type of ignition switch used on this model differs depending on the specifications of the vehicle. The expressions listed in the table below are used in this section.
