  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. The capacity of the air cleaner has been optimized to improve the silencing effect and reduce intake sound.

    2. A paper filter type air cleaner element, which ensures high filtering performance while reducing intake pressure losses, is used.

    3. On the models for Korea, a charcoal filter, which absorbs the HC that accumulates in the intake system when the engine is stopped, is used in the air cleaner cap in order to reduce evaporative emissions.

    4. A porous duct is used to reduce intake sound and the characteristic turbo sound. The porous duct has walls with small perforations which make it difficult for the standing waves generated inside the duct to occur by sound attenuation, and reduces the resonance sound released from the intake air ducts.

    5. The porous duct is installed between the resin duct frames of the No. 1 air cleaner inlet. A fluorine coating is used for the porous duct to increase its water-repellent qualities in consideration of preventing water leakage via the porous portion.
