ECD SYSTEM INITIALIZATION

  1. Supply Pump Learning Value Reset

    Tip:

    When a fuel supply pump assembly is replaced, the fuel supply pump learning value stored in the ECM must be reset.

    This function is used to reset the fuel supply pump learning value stored in the ECM upon replacing the fuel supply pump assembly.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      Note:

      Do not start the engine.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Supply Pump Learning Value Reset.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Utility

      When the first screen is displayed, check the vehicle condition and push "Next".

  2. EGR Learning Value Reset

    Tip:

    When an EGR valve assembly is replaced, the EGR learning value stored in the ECM must be reset.

    This function is used to reset the EGR learning value stored in the ECM upon replacing the EGR valve assembly.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      Note:

      Do not start the engine.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / EGR Learning Value Reset.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Utility

      Note:

      DTC P042F is output when performing EGR learning value reset. Therefore, after starting the engine, clear the DTCs.

  3. Air Flow Meter Learning Value Reset

    Tip:

    When a mass air flow meter is replaced, the air flow meter learning value and deterioration compensation stored in the ECM must be reset.

    This function is used to reset the air flow meter sub-assembly learning value and deterioration compensation stored in the ECM upon replacing the mass air flow meter sub-assembly.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      Note:

      Do not start the engine.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Air Flow Meter Learning Value Reset.

  4. DPF History Information Reset

    Tip:

    • This value is the ash accumulation volume in the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (DPF catalytic converter) calculated by the ECM. If the ash accumulation volume in the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (DPF catalytic converter) increases, the difference in pressure in front of and behind the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (DPF catalytic converter) will increase. The difference in pressure in front of and behind the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (DPF catalytic converter) is offset depending on the volume of accumulated ash.

    • When an exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (DPF catalytic converter) is replaced, the DPF deterioration record stored in the ECM must be cleared.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / DPF History Information Reset.

      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Utility

    Tip:

    When an air fuel ratio sensor is replaced, the air fuel ratio sensor learning value stored in the ECM must be reset.

    This function is used to reset the air fuel ratio sensor learning value stored in the ECM upon replacing the air fuel ratio sensor.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / O2 Sensor Learning Value Reset.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Differential Pressure Learning Value Reset.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Swirl Valve Learning Value Reset.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Upstream Turbine Pressure Learning Value Reset.

    This function is used to reset the NOx storage catalyst learning value stored in the ECM upon replacing the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (catalytic converter).

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / NOx Storage Catalyst Learning Value Reset.

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Fuel PCV Compensation Value Reset.
