RADIATOR(except Sedan) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  3. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

  4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

    Tip:

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. REMOVE BATTERY

  6. REMOVE THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY

  7. DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER HOSE CLAMP BRACKET

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 clamps and No. 1 water hose clamp bracket from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

  8. DISCONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    1. A288292

      Slide the clip and disconnect the water by-pass hose.

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE

    1. A288293

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 radiator hose.

  10. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

    1. A288294

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose.

  11. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly from the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

      Disconnect the 2 clamps and hood lock control cable assembly from the upper radiator support sub-assembly.

      Disconnect the engine hood courtesy switch connector. (w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch)

      Disconnect the 2 clamps and wire harness. (w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch)

      Remove the 5 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly.

      Tip:

      Use a 10 mm union nut wrench, to remove the 2 bolts (A).

  12. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    1. A207754

      Disconnect the clamp.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose.

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD

      Guide

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws and 2 guides and remove the No. 2 fan shroud from the radiator assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions from the No. 2 fan shroud.

  14. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

    1. A207755

      Disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the clamp and wire harness.

      Guide

      Disengage the 2 guides and disconnect the condenser assembly from the fan shroud as shown in the illustration.

      Note:

      Do not damage the condenser assembly or radiator assembly when removing the condenser assembly.

      Remove the radiator assembly with the fan shroud.

      Note:

      Do not apply excessive force to the condenser assembly or pipe when removing the radiator assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.

    6. A155402

      Remove the 2 bolts and fan shroud from the radiator assembly.

  15. REMOVE RADIATOR DRAIN COCK PLUG

    1. Remove the radiator drain cock plug.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the radiator drain cock plug.
