FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION:

  • Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

  • If the front seat airbag assembly was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, seat airbag case, separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback pad and separate type front seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

Tip:

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

  2. DISCONNECT SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

    1. Disengage the 2 hooks to disconnect the 2 rubber bands of the separate type front seatback cover.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the front seat airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      Clamp

      Wire Harness Clamp

      Disengage the clamp and remove the wire harness clamp.

    2. Separate the green airbag connector as shown in the illustration.

      Open the 2 fasteners.

    4. B369875N01

      Disengage the clamp (A) and pass the airbag wire harness through the part (B).

    5. Remove the 2 nuts.

      CAUTION:

      The nuts must not be reused.

    6. Disengage the clamp (C) and remove the front seat airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:

      Make sure that the separate type front seatback spring assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.

  4. REMOVE SEAT AIRBAG CASE

      Disengage the 2 hooks and remove the seat airbag case.
