EXTENSION HOUSING REAR OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT


  1. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID


    1. Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain ATF.

    2. Install a new gasket and the drain plug.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 205 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

  2. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the propeller with center bearing shaft Click here.

  3. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL

    1. Using SST, remove the oil seal.

  4. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL

    A01E0CTE01

    1. Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.

    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.

      SST
      09309-37010
      Standard oil seal depth
      5.8 to 6.2 mm (0.229 to 0.244 in.)

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the lip of the oil seal.

  5. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the propeller with center bearing shaft Click here.

  6. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

    Fluid type
    Toyota Genuine ATF Type T-IV

  7. CHECK AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
