GENERATOR REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE NO. 4 AIR HOSE

    1. Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the oil return hose.

    2. Loosen the 2 hose clamps and remove the No. 4 air hose.

  4. REMOVE INTERCOOLER AIR TUBE

      Remove the 2 bolts and air tube support bracket.

      Disconnect the connector from the intake air temperature sensor.

    3. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the intercooler air tube from the diesel throttle body assembly.

  5. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

      While turning the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly clockwise, align the service holes of the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly, and then insert a pin with a diameter of 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) into the service holes to fix the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly in place.

    2. Remove the fan and generator V belt.

  6. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

      Detach the clamp and disconnect the wire harness.

    2. Disconnect the connector from the generator assembly.

    3. Remove the terminal cap.

    4. Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness from terminal B.

      Remove the 2 bolts and generator assembly.
