TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM DTC CHECK / CLEAR

  1. CHECK DTC (for TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM) (USING GTS)

    Tip:

    Check for DTCs in the VSC system first.

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRC > Trouble Codes

    6. Read the DTCs.

  2. Tip:

    Check for DTCs in the VSC system first.

    CHECK DTC (for TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM) (USING SST CHECK WIRE)

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Read and record any DTCs indicated by the tire pressure warning light in the combination meter assembly. Refer to the illustration for examples of a normal system code and codes 13 and 33.

      Tip:
      • If the tire pressure warning light does not indicate any DTCs or the normal system code, inspect the tire pressure warning light circuit or TC and CG terminal circuit.

      • If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time, the lowest numbered DTC is displayed first.

    5. Check the details of the DTCs.

      Tip:

      *: DTC47 will not be output, when the check is performed with the GTS. DTC47 indicates a malfunction of the VSC system. When this DTC is output, check the VSC system related DTCs.

    6. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for DTC information.

    7. After completing the check, turn the ignition switch off and remove SST from the DLC3.

  3. CLEAR DTC (for TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM) (USING GTS)

    Tip:

    After repairing the malfunctions, clear the DTCs.

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRC > Clear DTCs

    6. Clear the DTCs following the prompts on the GTS screen.

      Tip:

      Refer to the GTS operator's manual for further details.

  4. CLEAR DTC (for TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM) (USING SST CHECK WIRE)

    Tip:

    After repairing the malfunctions, clear the DTCs.

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Clear the DTCs stored in the ECU by depressing the brake pedal 8 times or more within 5 seconds.

    5. Check that the tire pressure warning light indicates the normal system code.

    6. Remove SST from the DLC3.

      Tip:

      The DTCs cannot be cleared by disconnecting the battery terminal or IG1 NO. 1 fuse.
