AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM TEST MODE PROCEDURE

  1. AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

    Tech Tips

This mode is to check the automatic high beam system operation with the vehicle stationary, based on the high beam illumination request signal from the lane departure warning camera. Check that none of the conditions below are met before proceeding with the following procedure.

    • The system is in the start-up process, immediately after the engine switch is turned on (IG). (Standby mode is not determined.)

    • The camera is temporarily unavailable due to high temperature, etc. (The lane departure warning camera cannot detect properly.)

    • The lane departure warning camera is malfunctioning.

    • The camera cannot monitor the light level properly due to camera axis misalignment.

    1. Place the vehicle in an area dark enough for the automatic high beam system to operate.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the light control switch to the AUTO or head position to turn on the headlights.

    4. Press the combination switch assembly (automatic high beam main switch) to put the automatic high beam system in standby mode.

    5. Turn the engine switch off.

    6. Within 5 seconds of turning the engine switch on (IG), perform the following operation with the automatic high beam system in standby mode:

Move the dimmer switch to the high position and then change the dimmer switch position from high to low 9 times.
