EXHAUST PIPE(for AWD) REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during front exhaust pipe assembly, No. 2 center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) and tail exhaust pipe assembly removal/installation are shown below.

  • When the engine is hot, do not touch high-temperature areas such as the engine or exhaust pipe.

  • Touching high-temperature areas such as the engine and exhaust pipe could result in burns.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.


    1. B008LLN

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the No. 2 center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    2. Remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the No. 2 center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

  2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH

      B008LL0 Clip

      Remove the 2 bolts, clip and disengage the 5 clamps to remove the front floor cover LH from the vehicle body.

  3. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Perform the same procedure as for the front floor cover LH.

  4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE

      Remove the 8 bolts and 2 front floor center braces from the vehicle body.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the No. 2 center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Remove the No. 2 center exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the 4 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

  6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the clamp and disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

      Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

  7. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
