Iridium-tipped spark plugs are used to improve ignition performance while maintaining the same durability as platinum-tipped spark plugs.
The following have been used in order to meet the high voltage required for the turbocharged engine.
Materials of the insulator have been optimized to enhance resistance voltage.
The compounding agent of the center electrode tip has been optimized to enhance the spark consumption and oxidative consumption resistance.
The tip diameter of the center electrode and ground electrode have been increased to enhance the spark consumption and oxidative consumption resistance.
A copper core for the ground electrode is provided to enhance heat conductance and suppress the temperature increase of the ground electrode.
The diameter of the insulator tip has been reduced for the smoldering resistance performance.
