PROCEDURE
REMOVE VALVE STEM CAP
Remove the 16 valve stem caps from the intake valves and exhaust valves.
Tech Tips
Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.
REMOVE INTAKE VALVE

Using SST and wooden blocks, compress the outer compression spring and remove the 16 valve spring retainer locks from valve spring retainer.

Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.
Remove the 8 valve spring retainers, 8 outer compression springs and 8 intake valves from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE

Using SST and wooden blocks, compress the outer compression spring and remove the 16 valve spring retainer locks from valve spring retainer.

REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SEAL
Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 16 valve stem oil seals from intake valve guide bush and exhaust valve guide bush.
REMOVE VALVE SPRING SEAT
Using compressed air and a Magnet Hand, remove the 16 valve spring seats from the cylinder head sub-assembly by blowing air onto them.
Note
Be careful not to spray engine oil with the compressed air.
