Be sure to follow the correct removal and installation procedures of the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
PROCEDURE
INSPECT LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)
Perform a diagnostic system check.
for Type A:
for Type B:
for Type C:
Visually check for defects with the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly installed on the vehicle.
The defects are as follows:
Cuts on the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly
Small cracks on the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly
Significant discoloration on the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly
OK |

No defects are found. |
Tech Tips
If any of the defects is found, replace the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly with a new one.

Cracks or other damage to the connector
Deformation or cracks on the instrument panel or instrument panel reinforcement
